Tyler Benson Join Rhys Millen Racing in the 2014 Global Rallycross Lites.
Tyler Benson didn’t make his GRC Lites debut until halfway through the 2013 season, preventing him from making any serious run at the inaugural series championship. But with a jump start on preparing himself for 2014, Benson’s prospects for running well in his first full season are high.
Though the New Jersey native took a few races to acclimate to his new ride, by the end of the season Benson appeared comfortable in the car. He’ll be even more comfortable this season with the help of Rhys Millen, whose team has taken on the responsibility of a GRC Lites team alongside its Supercar commitments. Millen and Benson are well acquainted, which grew out of Millen’s relationship with Benson’s father Brad; Brad Benson Auto Group is one of the largest Hyundai dealers in the United States and has hosted Rhys Millen Racing vehicles for maintenance in the past.
With a brand new vehicle and the right team behind him, Benson has a chance to make significant strides in the 2014 GRC Lites season. The only question is how quickly he can bring himself to the front.
